The Harvest Praise Story

‘Harvest Praise’ is a music outreach program that was started by Harvest International Ministries (HIM) in 1998, and it has been running for 25 years. The event has been held in various venues, including the National Theater, the Dome at the Accra International Conference Center, and the main auditorium of the Accra International Conference Center. The 2018 edition was held at the new Fantasy Dome, and for the 25th anniversary, the event will be held at the UPSA Auditorium, as the program has grown tremendously over the years.

‘Harvest Praise’ takes place every Good Friday and aims to positively influence people’s lives through quality live musical and drama performances in a unique ambiance. Over the years, the program has featured many renowned local gospel artists, such as Daughters of Glorious Jesus, Soul Winners, Danny Nettey, No Tribe, Ohemah Mercy, Cecilia Marfo, Qwesi Oteng, Joe Mettle, Edwin Dadson, KODA, among others. The program has also attracted world-renowned musicians like Andrae Crouch (USA), Vinesong (UK), Benjamin Dube (SA), Bob Fitts (USA), Darwin Hobbs (USA), Kurt Carr (USA), Nathaniel Bassey (Nigeria), Uche Agu (Nigeria), Byron Cage (USA), Todd Dulaney (USA), Anthony Brown and Group TherAPy (USA), Victoria Orenze (Nigeria), and for the 25th anniversary, Don Moen (USA) and Moses Bliss (Nigeria).

Besides offering quality music, ‘Harvest Praise’ also provides a platform for creating healthy family relationships and promoting values such as sharing, caring, and a sense of belonging. In line with these values, the program has launched the Social Integration Project (SIP), which aims to foster interaction between the less privileged and other members of society, starting with attending ‘Harvest Praise’ events. Every year, the program reaches out to orphans and the physically challenged.

To cater to the needs of children between the ages of 4 and 12, ‘Harvest Praise’ has also launched a children’s wing called ‘HP Kidz.’ This interactive program features activities such as choreography, drama, and action songs, making it a family program that caters to all age groups. The venue for HP Kidz during the 25th anniversary will be the Rev. JK Antwi Astro Turf, also known as the UPSA Astro Turf Stadium.
